Three power play goals by Norwood in the middle period broke up a scoreless game and paced the Mustangs to the nonleague victory at the Martha's Vineyard Arena. A goal from Caroline Kelleher got the Vineyarders on the board early in the third, but a Norwood tally half way through the final period cemented the win for the visitors and dropped the home team to 6-11-2 on the season.

Four different goal scorers paced the short-handed Vineyarders to a league victory in the first ever high school girls varsity game on Nantucket.
Skyla Harthcock, Lila Mikos, and Ava BenDavid scored to make it 3-0 before the game was five minutes old. Junior Maria Frangos played string in net, and when the Whalers cut the Vineyard lead to 3-2 in the second, Lily Moran notched her first varsity goal to make it 4-2.

The Vineyard hung tough for two periods, but ultimately the powerful Dolphins took over with the three third period goals to finalize a 4-0 decision at Tony Kent Arena.
After a scoreless first period, D-Y beat Sarah Hartenstine with a blast from the point with just under five minutes left in the middle period. An early third period goal, and two goals in the last three minutes paced the Dolphins to the Cape & Islands victory.

The Vineyarders scored the first goal, played a wonderful first and third period, but still dropped a 4-1 decision to the Clippers at Falmouth Arena.
Ava BenDavid found the back of the net after her linemates applied good forecheck pressure to force a Falmouth turnover just under five minutes into the contest. Martha's Vineyard continued to play well, but Falmouth scored two goals of their own to take a 2-1 lead into the break.
The home team came out flying in the second, but freshman goalie Sarah Hartenstine was only beaten once in the middle period. After a back and forth third period so no goals, the Vineyard pulled Hartenstine before Falmouth sealed the win with an empty netter.

Amelia Simmons stood tall in net as she kept Ursuline off the scoreboard through the first 24 minutes of the contest. However, Ursuline tallied a goal with just over six minutes to go in the middle stanza, and then they followed with a goal with just over a minute to play in the second.
Two more goals from Ursuline in the third paced the visitors to a 4-0 lead, but Ava BenDavid set up Alana Nevin to break the shut out. The Vineyarders kept the pressure on the rest of the way, but they were unable to find the back of the net, and Ursuline soon collected their championship plaque at center ice as victors of the 20th annual Nan Rheault Invitational.

The home team advanced to the championship game of the 20th Annual Nan Rheault Tournament with an exciting 6-5 win over long time rivals Scituate High School.
After Caroline Kelleher opened the scoring with her first varsity goal, and the two teams skated to a 1-1 draw in the first period, the Vineyard found their stride offensively with three second period goals. Alana Nevin, Kelleher, and Paige Anderson found the back of the net in the middle period, and senior netminder Amelia Simmons allowed just one Sailors goal to lead Martha's Vineyard to a 4-2 lead after two periods.
The third period saw the Vineyard jump out to two separate three goal leads. Skylah Harthcock scored early in the final period to up the lead to 5-2, and after a Scituate goal, Ava BenDavid found the back of the net with a nifty wrist shot to regain the three-goal margin with just over six minutes left in the contest. Despite two goals from Paige Anderson the Vineyard dropped the back end of their two game Boston road trip at Walter Brown Arena.
Brookline scored early in the first period, but Anderson netted the equalizer less than two minutes later. The home team netted the go ahead goal soon after, and Brookline held the 2-1 lead through two periods. A third Warriors goal early in the third, and Anderson's second goal of the game set the town for a frantic third period. Unfortunately the Vineyard could not find the back of the net again, and the visitors dropped the one goal non league decision.

The Vineyard rode early goals from Paige Anderson and Alana Nevin to a 2-0 first period lead and never looked back at Matthews Arena on the campus of Northeastern University.

A goal late in the opening period, and three more in the middle stanza paced the home team to the victory. The Vineyarders played a quality third period, but it was not enough as Martha's Vineyard saw their record fall to 1-4-2 on the season.

Ava BenDavid scored six goals to lead the Vineyarders to a victory in the team's first ever game against their island rivals. With the home win, the Vineyard earned their first Cape & Islands victory, and they won for the first time in 2020.
BenDavid scored three goals in the opening period, the second on a penalty shot, and the third with one second left in the period to pace the Vineyarders to a 3- l lead. The junior notched two goals in the second, and then a third 50-seconds into the third period to give Martha's Vineyard a 6-2 lead. Alana Nevin and Paige Anderson completed the scoring, and all the Vineyarders celebrated the victory over the Whalers.

In a thrilling game at Martha's Vineyard Arena, the Vineyarders earned their first point of the season against the perennial powers from Barnstable. Skylah Harthcock and Paige Anderson scored for the home team, and wonderful team defense and goaltending from the Vineyard shut down a powerful Red Raiders offense.

Paige Anderson and Alana Nevin scored their first varsity goals in the middle stanza to cap a dominant second period for the home team. Anderson had a deft tip in front off a Lauren Boyd shot, and Nevin found the back of the net after a mad scramble in front of the D-Y net to tie the game at 2-2.
Unfortunately the game got away from the Vineyard in the final period. D-Y scored off a turnover 16-seconds into the period for the game winner, and then the Dolphins poured in on the rest of the way.

The Vineyard hosted the first ever Cape & Islands girls hockey game at Martha's Vineyard Arena on Wednesday, and despite a much improved performance over Monday's affair with ORR, the home team dropped a hard fought 3-0 decision to Falmouth.
With a new Cape & Islands conference as a backdrop, and a perennial power coming to visit, the Vineyarders battled to a scoreless first period. Senior Amelia Simmons was strong in net, and Martha's Vineyard was able to generate some quality scoring opportunities in the opening period, including a penalty shot just over six minutes into the game.
The Clippers scored the only goal of the middle stanza, but Martha's Vineyard had some of their best scoring chances in the final period. Falmouth was able to capitalize on a turnover at their own blue line three minutes into the third period to go up 2-0 , and then they scored the games final goal with just over two minutes remaining in the game.
Lauren Boyd, Ruby Reimann, Lila Mikos, and Megan Zeilinger all played solid defense for the home team, and a mixture of veterans and newcomers paced the offense for Martha's Vineyard.
The team hosts their final game before the holiday break on Saturday against Cape rival Dennis-Yarmouth, and the Vineyarders look to continue their improved play in hopes of generating their first win of the 2019-2020 season.

It was a disappointing opener for the 2019-2020 Vineyarders on Monday afternoon at Martha's Vineyard Arena. After two delays forced their opener to be moved to Monday, the Vineyarders fell behind 1-0 in the opening period, and they never were able to recover and make things interesting.
Carly Drew netted two goals and added an assist, as the visitors scored a pair of goals in each the second and third periods to add more then enough offense for All-Star goalie, Megan Nolan. The senior stopped 34 shots in the victory, including three Vineyard breakaways.
